Consultation FAQs
How many consultation hours do I need?
You need a total of 10 hours. These are split up between 5 hours after Part 1, and 5 hours after Part 2.
Â
Do I have to do 5 hours after Part 1 and 5 hours after Part 2?
Yes. Consultations are specific to the material learned and practiced in each part of the training.
Â
Other than attending, are there specific requirements for the consultations?
You are required to log in on time, stay for the whole time, and have your camera on. You are also required to present one case in between Part 1 and 2, and another case after Part 2. More information about presenting cases will be provided during the training.
Â
How long do I have to complete my 10 hours?
Per EMDRIA, you have 12 months from the first day of training to complete all 10 hours.
Â
What if I don’t complete them by the deadline?
If you don’t complete them within that 12-month timeframe, you are not eligible to call yourself EMDR Trained and you will have to retake the entire training. This is an EMDRIA requirement and is non-negotiable.
Â
How do I track my hours?
A link is provided in the “Consultations” tab of the course platform along with instructions on how to use the form.
Â
What if I can’t find the link for tracking hours that Stacy provided?
You can find everything you need to track your consultation hours in the “Consultations” tab of the course platform.
Â
What if I lose track of my hours / forget to track one?
You can use the same link to track a past date. Just click the link and choose the past date that you attended. If you forgot to log a date and don’t remember if/when you attended, you would have to attend another consultation group.
Â
Do I need to let you know which groups I plan on joining?
No, you do not. Just show up and track your attendance!
Â
What do I do after I complete my hours?
Nothing! When your cohort’s final consultation is complete, you will receive your certificate via email. This is sent out within two weeks of that final consultation group, and will come from my training coordinator, so keep an eye out for an email from [email protected].
Â
What if it’s been two weeks since my group’s consultation hours have been complete, and I still haven’t received my certificate?
Please check your spam/trash folder for the email from [email protected].
Â
What if my 10 hours were not complete when my cohort finished? How will you know when I have completed my hours?
We review consultation hour logs once a month and will email your certificate when we see that your hours have been completed. *You do not need to let us know when you have completed your hours.
Â
What if my 10 hours are complete but I’d like to continue attending the consultation groups?
While we love that you’re getting a lot out of the groups, we do ask that you stop attending after your 10 hours are complete. Without this limitation, the groups get too big to manage.
Â
I’d like to continue getting consultation!
Great! Please see our website at www. https://www.towsoncounselingcenter.com/emdr-consultation for on-going consultation groups for clinicians who have completed the basic training.Â
CE FAQs
How many CEs will I get from this training?
You will receive 20 CEs after Part 1 and 20 CEs after Part 2.
Â
When do I get them?
You will receive your CE certificate for Part 1 after the 3 days of training plus 5 hours of consultation. You will receive your CE certificate for Part 2 after the second 3 days of training plus 5 hours of consultation. *Please note that you do not receive CEs immediately after each 3-day training; you receive them after the 5 consultation hours associated with each part have been completed.
Â
Do I have to let you know when my consultation hours are complete so you can email me my CE certificate?
No. We track attendance and will send CEs out once we see that the 5 consultation hours have been met.
Â
Certificate of Completion FAQs
When will I get my final certificate of completion?
You will get your certificate of completion when you’ve attended all parts of the training – a total of 6 days of training plus 10 hours of consultation.
Â
Do I have to let you know when my final consultation hours are complete so you can email me my certificate of completion?
No. When your cohort’s final consultation is complete, you will receive your certificate via email. This is sent out within two weeks of that final consultation group, and will come from my training coordinator, so keep an eye out for an email from [email protected].
Â
What if I’m not done with my hours when my cohort is complete? Do I need to let you know when I’m done with my hours, so you’ll know to send me my certificate of completion?
No, you do not. We review consultation hour logs once a month and will email your certificate when we see that your hours have been completed.

Reminders for beginning of consultation groups:
Â
Your camera must be on – you will be kicked out (put in waiting room) if it is not on. This is for the safety of our colleagues and the cases they are presenting.
Attendance taken in the first 10 minutes.
You must stay logged on the entire group – if you leave early you will not get credit for attendance.
Don’t forget you must present one case after Part 1 and one case after Part 2.
