EMDRIA Certified Therapists™ who have completed the online CIT Declaration Form are eligible to begin working towards the EMDRIA Approved Consultant™ credential. In addition to already being an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™, applicants must have three years of experience with EMDR after completing an EMDRIA™ Approved EMDR Basic Training Program, have conducted at least three hundred clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized, and have received 20 hours of consultation-of-consultation from an EMDRIA Approved Consultant™. They must complete twelve hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years to continue to hold this credential.

Those applying for EMDRIA Approved Consultant™ credential must be a current EMDRIA Certified Therapist™.  You cannot begin to accrue consultation-of-consultation hours until you have been approved as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™.

As a Consultant in Training (CIT) with Therapist Education Institute (TEI), you can expect the highest quality of consultation and guidance provided by our team of dedicated and experienced EMDRIA Approved Consultants.

Our services include:

• Consultant in Training group: This monthly group is designed specifically for CITs and is led by our EMDRIA Approved Consultants.
• Individual consultation-of-consultation: One-on-one meetings with your EMDRIA Approved Consultant who will provide feedback and guidance to help you develop your skills as a consultant.
• EMDR Basic Training group consultation opportunities: We conduct EMDR Basic Training consultation groups multiple times a week. As a CIT with TEI, you have the opportunity to audit and/or co-lead these groups to gain experience and knowledge in consultation.
• Audit of EMDR Basic Training: Stacy Stoddard, LCMFT, EMDRIA Approved Trainer and Founder of TEI, conducts monthly EMDR Basic Trainings. As a CIT with TEI, you have the opportunity to audit an EMDR Basic Training at a discounted rate.
• Access to EMDR trainings and workshops: Our team of EMDRIA Approved Consultants and Trainers offer advanced EMDR trainings, both Live and OnDemand, year-round.
